It’s So Nice To Meet You

I am married to the Patient one and have been for more than 23 years. We have three perfect children though we are not. Smiling here. Teenagers are great, we should know. And adult children are too. We should know. We will joyously have a college graduate soon. There are four furry people with four legs in our zoo slash home. Three of them follow me around all day. Therefore I am never alone.

I like art and music and most days I love to write and play with words. The Patient one and I like to cook and play with food together. We love new recipes and to have our children in the kitchen (but not the furry ones because it gets too crowded) and we love the music loud. Or at least one of us does.

I embarrass my children often, particularly when I sing loudly in church. And every time I laugh because its too loud.

My sunglasses are on top of my head too often making it a habit I need to break. Its fun for me to move furniture, re hang art and to re-do, re-purpose and re-configure the things in our home. I might like change.

Don’t know yet if its a habit I need to break but middle child has asked me to leave the furniture alone.

I love all things Southern and old. Old family things are especially precious to me. I also like old things that have belonged to complete strangers ( i.e. treasures from flea markets, antique stores, and the Salvation army). And I like all things French, especially the language.

My life has been grace-filled. We have survived and been strengthened by more than one bump in our marriage and in our family life. Blessings abound in our life at the coast and I remain in awe of our God and all of his goodness.

    • Humble thanks. So glad you are here and even better that you took time to comment. So glad you wanted to stick around. Yes the laughs. Oh the embarrassment I cause my kiddos. Oh well… Look forward to having you back here in the little comment box. Thanks for your kind words.

  1. hi its bel ,i thank the lord ,that he made you ,the person you are ,but growing in his grace Its nice to know jesus puts us , and sends us to people he wants us to know.,i have been to paris ,very beautiful.but only for a night.

  2. A sunglasses … a habit I need to break, too, but really, it’s the best place where I know I’ll find them again and where they’ll keep my hair out of my eyes. My own Patient one teases me about all the pictures of me with sunglasses on my head and tells me they are my trademark. I’ve loved visiting your blog and looking around. I’ll be back! But for now, I’ll go out in peace, thinking of the shower of camellia petals in your latest, beautiful post, and think of the own pink camellia shower in my yard that fills me with hope every turn of a new year. Thank you.

    • How wonderful to have you here. I hope you’ll be back. Your comment, i am holding on to that today, tightly..it filled me up with its grace. Its a pleasure to meet you and I so look forward to having you stop in , read, and comment again. Grateful for your visit here. Love that you left sweet words for me.

  3. Hello, Elizabeth. I’m Stephanie. I’m new to the blogging world and am wanting to meet new friends. Congratulations on 23 years of marriage. My sweetie, Lefty, and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary in June. We’ve got one sweet little girl, two fun and funny dogs, and two beta fish named Data and Bubbles. It was nice visiting you! Since you like southern things, you may enjoy visiting me at http://www.thewritesteph.com. I write about growing up in rural south Alabama. -Stephanie
